The highlights…and the lowlights
January 1990
Born
I was the second born daughter to a single teenage mother who loved her children fiercely. I would go on to be blessed with two new stepfathers, several new stepmothers and a plethora of stepsiblings. If I had to assign a relationship status to the question “How many siblings do you have?” it would be ‘It’s complicated.’ I am grateful to be able to say that I was saved at a very young age during a Sunday school class at the church my grandparents attended in central, Pennsylvania.

Graduation and adulthood
By the time I was 19 years old, I had graduated from high school and knew everything there is to know about life. (Isn’t that how it works?) I spent most of this time period basking in my sin, which led to the earning of my own ‘teen mom’ title when my oldest daughter was born in 2009.

Graduation Round 2
By the ripe young age of 25, with the support of my incredible husband, I had graduated from college and grad school with a master’s degree in clinical psychology. I’d also graduated to wifey status (in 2014) and a became a beaming mother of now two fabulous daughters (2009) and (2015). I had also experienced a loss, the likes of which I’d never known before, during an unexpected miscarriage between them.

Living, loving, growing
Fast forwarding to present day, after a pretty traumatic accident, my husband found Jesus, which in turn led me to growing in my faith in ways I never knew were possible. I am also now a mother of four-my two daughters were followed shortly by their eagerly awaited brother in 2017 and then finally another beautiful daughter in 2023. Our two spunky huskies round out our wild and crazy little family and complete the messy and love crazy world we now live in.
